Review of 1st half of 2009

Early of this semester, there was a major devastating earthquake measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale jolted Wenchuan County of southwest China's Sichuan Province, which was the most destructive earthquake in past 30 years. Having heard the bad news, all members of association consentaneously decided to appeal for donation on Bond campus to help those who suffered in the earthquake. The event was held between 10am and 2pm from Tuesday to Thursday in week 3

We appreciated that attentions and concerns of all Bond staffs and students on the appeal, especially for those who generously donated during the three-day appeal and in the Cashier few days before the appeal. In the last day of the appeal, some staffs and students even came to us for donating regardless of bad weather. We were also impressed by how generous Bond staffs and students were during the appeal. There was approximately 20%-30% of donation coming from non-Chinese students. In addition, there are also Organizational Behaviors groups and groups for other subjects reaching to us sooner after the appeal, expressing that they intend to organize events on purpose of raise donation for people of earthquake-hit area. We appreciate their efforts and are willing to provide helps as possible as we could.

The total amount of donation collected during the appeal was AUD 5002.10, 250 RMB, USD 11, 5 Singaporean Dollars, 5 Pounds and 0.5 Malaysian Dollars. The donation fund we had brought to Consulate General of People's Republic of China in Brisbane directly after the appeal. The attachment below is certificate of donation issued by Consulate General of People's Republic of China in Brisbane.

We would like to represent all earthquake-hit victims to express gratitude for the Bond staff and students' generosity and concerns on donation. Their generosity brings to the earthquake-hit victims is not only fiscal helps but also sense of international humanitarian solicitude.

Recruitment

It is admitted that there was just one major event, Celebration of Spring Festival, being held last year. The reason is that the Association is short of manpower for organizing events recently. Many members of the Association graduated continually and recruiting mechanism was not complete during the period. In order to improve and vivificate performance of the Association, CSA, hereby, announces to recruit fresh few members among Chinese students. For those who are interested in, please contact us via email with your resume and positions that you intend to apply before XX (星期几) week 10. Email address: XX (自己添)
